Before the wedding ceremony takes place, the couple will need to obtain a marriage license from the county they reside. The marriage license will need to be brought to the wedding for the Officiant, Bride and Groom, as well as, two witnesses to sign the legal document.
The couple should know the date of their wedding ceremony before they apply for their license. The application must take place 30 days from the date of the wedding ceremony.
To apply for the marriage license, you will typically need: Copy of Birth Certificate of bride and groom, Driver’s License, Social Security Cards, proof of residence, (if not shown on Driver’s License) and applicable fees.
